New buyers

RSF is a computer service company for the Icelandic fish auctions and connects 11 fish auctions in 45 locations. It collects payments from buyers and disburses sellers, auctions, harbours, government, etc..

Buyers on the Icelandic auction (RSF) need to have a bank guarantee or pay in advance to buy.

The buyer is given a number. To do that RSF needs the following information:

• Name of company
• Address
• Telephone
• E-mail
• Name of contact (person)
• Email for invoices *

*RSF sends the invoices to buyers via email.
You can choose to have them sent to you via snail mail but that comes with a fee.

The buying week starts on a Friday and ends on a Thursday and the following Friday the invoices are printed out and they need to be paid within a week (Thursday).

RSF Pricing

To buy on the internet on the RSF clock, buyers need a high speed connection.

To connect to the RSF clock the buyers need to apply for My account. You can apply here

Buyers that use PC need to have Windows 7 or newer, Apple users need macOS 10.10 or newer.
The display has to be at least 1280x1024.

** We recommend that the computer that is used is restarted at least once a week to minimise the danger of having connection.**

The quality is normally very good (brand new fish).

RSF does not handle the fish itself. The fishmarkets do that and describe it on the catalog and if something goes wrong (very seldom), the fishmarket is responsible.
We advise buyers from abroad to have an agent here to help you with buying decicions and organising transport. The fishmarket will take care of transport domestically but you have to organize transport to you.

All fish bares 11% Vat on Iceland and RSF has to add that to the invoice but the tax authorities pay it back.

RSF can service foreign buyers with the reimbursement of the VAT for a moderate fee.

We prefer to have the guarantee in Icelandic kronur (ISK).
