Starting price on the RSF auction – How is that decided?

When the auction system decides the starting price on the auction it looks up each lot. Checks on the combination of specie, condition (ungutted/gutted), age, size and quantity. The system looks up the price of the same combination the last two days it was sold and uses the highest price. A certain amount is added to that price which is configured for each specie. This starting price can change within the day, if the same combination is sold again and the quantity is enough.

The significant quantity is also configured for each specie.

Dæmi:

Highest price for a combination last two times (reference price): 300 ISK
Amount added by configuration: 70 ISK.
Starting price: 370 ISK (300+70).

The starting price goes up if a lot in the aucton is sold for a higher price than before.

A lot with the same combination as above goes for: 330 ISK.
Then the starting price for the combination changes to: 400 ISK (330 + 70).

If the starting price goes up while the auction is running, the system uses that price the rest of the auction and only changes if the price goes up.
The starting price does not go down except if the price of the first lot of a combination is lower than the original reference price.

Starting price: 370 ISK (300+70)
First lot in að combination goes for: 290 ISK.
Then the starting for that combination changes to: 360 ISK (290 + 70).

The starting price in that auction for that combination can go up if the price goes up after that.
